Hello and Welcome on Sagaplanet.com,
This site will help you discover the regions of the world, their history, and their nature through women and men who created it. You'll discover people who fought for projects, ideas: they built cities, universities, and institutions. They are Presidents, directors, artists, inventors ... Their paths may sometimes be subject to controversy, but they managed to build the unimaginable.
After visiting the destinations of Nouvelle-Angleterre in the US, Provence Côte d’Azur or Catalonia , we will go on to discover this summer an island of magic charms : Madagascar. In the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Mozambique, lies a land of wild nature, a refuge for endemic species of both flora and fauna. Mangroves, lagoons, virgin forests, plateaus and the bush: the landscapes of Madagascar will take your breath away.
This is also a land once ruled by majestic queens, with its cult of the dead and where the spirits are consulted at times of great consequence in one’s life. Here the zodiac is the order of both spatial and social matters.
Madagascar has always fought for its sovereignty, from the time of Queen Ranavalona the 1st to the father of independence, Tsiranana. Madagascar achieved independence in 1960, during the great wave of decolonization.Self-rule gave the country the freedom to build, but Madagascar still has not yet responded to the challenge of fighting against poverty, and current political instability is not helping matters. May the country find the key to economic development that will allow it to be what it had once dreamed it could be: the dragon of the Indian Ocean.
We are therefore leaving the Mediterranean zone where Scipio and King René enchanted us. We are leaving the villages of Provence, like Saint-Tropez, Biot, Mougins and Saint-Paul .
We are heading for the coastal villages of the Indian Ocean. In our hearts as we head out on our voyage are the artists who inspired us, like Picasso, Miro, Tapiès, Rafols-Casamada or others who saw in the arts of Africa and Oceania a source of inspiration.Together, let’s discover this superb region, full of riches, whose power is guaranteed to impress its visitors. Have a good trip and see you soon on Sagaplanet.com!
