 Cannes' festival's legends: 1952 Othello

A film done in 1951 by Orson Welles, who plays also the main role, in front of Michael Mac Liammoir , Suzanne Cloutier, Robert Coote...

Based on a play of Shakespeare, this film presents the manipulations of Iago as he did not have the promotion he wanted. He says to Othello that his wife Desdemona was unfaithfull to him with Cassio.

The shooting of this film lasted 3 years and happens in Morocco, Tuscany, Venice and in the Scalera Studio in Rome. It was mad in difficult conditions, especially due to the bankruptcy of the financer. Orson Welles had to use the money earned with The "Third Man" to finish the film.
